Blood and Roses – Lylah James Review

Title: Blood and Roses
Author: Lylah James
Release Date: 27th February 2018

Star Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was trapped. There was nothing left of me.

Then he came and wanted to make me his.
He saved me. He gave me a home, a family.
He made sweet love to me.
I was his Angel. He was my everything.
I thought we would live happily ever after, but there are no happy endings in the mafia life.
I found this out the hard way, as the blood flowed, red as roses…

Angel. The word meant nothing until I saw her.
I found her in a place worse than hell. She calls me her savior.
But I didn’t save her. I captured the pretty angel and made her mine.
Life was perfect. I had everything I wanted.
I was her salvation. She was my redemption.
Until I lost her.
Angels deserve happy endings, but monsters like me don’t.
My darkness became hers, and our happily-ever-after became tainted.

**You need to read The Mafia and His Angel BEFORE Blood and Roses**Trigger Warnings**
I craved Lyov and Maria’s story since the end of TMAHA part three – and Lylah James has not disappointed!!
The way her words just seem to flow, and the way that the characters are brought to life make this an amazing addition to Alessio and Ayla’s story!
The romance is dark, erotic and heart-breaking. There are some scenes that I was not expecting, and some that readers might find distressing, but know that it is all in the dark name of the Ivanshov’s. Nothing is simple in their life, and if you’ve read TMAHA then you will understand that not everything is as clean cut.
This is a dark but beautiful story. I would call it a fairy tale, but it isn’t. It’s an Ivanshov version of a Disney movie. The villain turned knight, the hero turned heroine. The beast turned victim.
Doesn’t fate always have a cruel way of twisting the dagger?
Lylah James has written us a gorgeous add on, one you must read if you want to understand Lyov and Maria better.
